Q&A:

  • Can we split our recurrent training with UPRT and non-UPRT programs to optimize the use of upgrades simulator?

This has to be assessed internally within the airline and proposed to the relevant regulator. For example OPC training & checking without UPRT exercises can be done in a simulator not equipped with UPRT data package and next LPC is addressing the yearly UPRT exercises in a simulator equipped with UPRT data package.

  • Is there any specific materials provided with the recommended “Train the trainer” program?

Yes, the Train the Trainer program is associated with specific doc provided to the ‘expert’ trained (program syllabus, instructor guide).

  • Do you (Air New Zealand) have “wind shear detection” system equipped on you aircraft?

The ATR position; reactive windshear warning is available on -600 NAS STD aircraft.

  • Apart from ATR simulators, are other simulators updated with the new data package?

ATR does not have information regarding all third party FFS. We of course encourage the purchase of the ATR UPRT data package. We recommend ATR customers utilizing third party training organizations to request this data package. However, third party simulator could also be updated with other UPRT data packages available in the market (not recommended by ATR).

  • Both the UPRT and Landing Trainer APPs available on the Apple APPs store no longer work. Can ATR update them to work with current iOS versions?

Thank you for the interest in the APP, we had not anticipated there was still a demand for this APP. We cannot commit at this stage.

  • Is a bounce landing considered an ARC?

    Yes

  • Is the data package also going to be available for ATR 500 series FFS?

Yes, it is available for 500 variants (42 & 72) but not for 42-300 nor 72-200.

  • Have you already prepared this train the trainers DOC?

Train the Trainer handouts does exist. They are provided to customers when attending the course.
